Elephant magazine
I joined Elephant as Managing Editor from 2020 to 2022, after several years of working freelance with the team. I came on board to oversee the redesign of the print biannual alongside art director, Tom Joyes. The role was a melting pot of creative and logistical responsibilities. I managed, commissioning, writing, flat planning, production and more. I also liaised on website content, commissioning and writing alongside my print responsibilities.
As a leading contemporary art magazine with accessibility at its core, Elephant featured artists including Marina Abramović, John Akomfrah, Tai Shani, Sin Wai Kin, Laurie Anderson, William Kentridge, Tracey Emin and many more besides.
The Arts Society
I managed the digital editorial for The Arts Society from 2018 to 2023.
I worked with the editor-in-chief to reimagine content for online, commissioned original stories for the website, and collaborated with a range of the society’s experts and academics.
Art Quarterly
I cut my teeth at Art Quarterly, the magazine of The Art Fund, where I discovered everything there is to know about making a print publication. I learned how to edit, pitch, commission, interview, conduct picture research, manage a flat plan and press pass.
